Creating your Letterhead

let·ter·head

   [let-er-hed]
noun
a printed heading on stationery, especially one giving thename and address of a business concern, an institution, etc.
a sheet of paper with such a heading.

When creating your letterhead there are a few key elements to keep in mind.
1.  This is a formal document that is used for correspondence between clients, mailings, etc.
2.  Any large background elements should be simplified and low contrast.
Elements placed in the body should NOT be distracting.
3.  More contrasting graphic elements should be placed in the margin NOT in the body.
4.  A letter head should include the company name, contact information and perhaps a slogan.

Here are some examples to get you started.
